Teqia · CNC machining quotations
CNC machining quotation and cost estimation software
Quoting machined parts is not just a materials calculation. Engineers and sales teams must review drawings, tolerances, series size, machining operations, outsourced treatments and inspection requirements before they can establish reliable costs. Teqia helps bring that information into one controlled RFQ workflow.

An RFQ may arrive with 2D drawings, 3D models, material specifications, dimensional tolerances, surface finishes, batch quantities and delivery deadlines. Information can be spread across multiple revisions and clarification emails. Before estimating, identify the current drawing version and record every unresolved technical assumption.
Material, operations and machining time
A quotation may require raw stock selection, cutting allowances, milling, turning, drilling, finishing, heat treatment and metrology. Expected machine time, programming and setup time need to be separated. For small series, setup can dominate cost; for larger batches, cycle time and tool wear become more influential. These are manufacturing judgments that need approved formulas.

Discuss my CNC quoting workflow ↗How AI-assisted document review fits in
Teqia can help organize received files, extract quantities and technical requirements and link line items to source documents. The manufacturer can configure cost parameters for material, preparation, machine hours, subcontracted processes and overheads. AI should not invent missing speeds, feeds or machining feasibility. Those values are reviewed by a competent estimator.
Example: a revised bracket RFQ
Imagine a precision bracket with a drawing revision that reduces tolerance and requires additional surface treatment. The revision is linked to the original requirement, and the quotation team checks whether an inspection operation, new tooling or extra supplier step is needed. Previous calculations remain reviewable rather than silently overwritten.
Pilot and commercial deployment
To evaluate the solution, compare a known completed estimate with a live RFQ involving drawings and cost breakdowns. Validate part numbering, units, material prices, setup and cycle times, scrap, machine utilization and the approval process. Existing ERP references and quotation templates may be considered during implementation after a technical review.
What should the first pilot demonstrate?
A successful pilot should let a reviewer trace each significant number to its source or an approved calculation, identify unanswered technical questions and compare the output with the manufacturer’s existing method. The goal is reproducible quotations, not a headline speed claim.
Frequently asked questions
Can software determine machining feasibility without an engineer?
No. Teqia supports document interpretation and cost organization. Machinability, tolerance feasibility, process planning and the approval of quoted lead times remain with qualified staff.
